Professor Qian Juying Honored as a 2026 Zhong Yang-Style Good Teacher

On Sept. 9, as the 42nd Teachers' Day approached, Fudan University held its 2026 Teachers' Day-themed event, at which Qian Juying, vice president of Zhongshan Hospital and deputy director of the Department of Cardiology, was awarded the honorary title of Fudan University's 2026 Zhong Yang-Style Good Teacher. Qian has devoted 34 years to the front line of clinical care, teaching and research.

Known as the lead-apron heroine who guards cardiovascular patients, she personally performs or guides about 1,000 procedures a year and has accumulated more than 15,000 procedures in total, with her complex coronary intervention techniques reaching internationally advanced levels. She took part in advancing the R&D and clinical application of domestically developed biodegradable stents, breaking the foreign monopoly over consumables, and has led more than 20 national-level research projects. Adhering to the educational philosophy of putting virtue first, ability second and a benevolent heart as the soul, she has trained more than 50 master's and doctoral students and more than 100 interventional physicians.

Her team was selected as a national university-level Huang Danian-Style teaching team, and she served as editor-in-chief of the popular science book series Healthy Heartbeat and was named an Outstanding Figure in Shanghai Health Science Communication.
