Clinical Needs Drive Innovation: Huashan's Medical AI Achievements Debut at WAIC

At the medical sub-forum of the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC), HS-MIND and the full-course follow-up system for allergic and immune diseases, both led by Huashan Hospital, were selected into the white paper 2026 AI Plus Health: Shanghai Practice. In the same year, at the second MWCapital Awards ceremony in Barcelona, Spain, HS-MIND was shortlisted for the final round and ranked among the top three worldwide in the public institution category. The competition attracted 298 technology solutions from 62 countries, and among the 17 finalists Huashan Hospital was the only medical institution selected.

HS-MIND, led by Vice President Professor Qin Lunxiu and associate chief physician Zhou Yiming, serves as a pre-MDT support layer that produces traceable pre-conference analysis reports with reasoning paths. The Huashan Allergy Assistant, led by Luo Xiaoqun, director of the Department of Allergy, has enabled follow-up of about 16,000 cases, with AI image analysis completing skin lesion assessment in seconds. The Xiaofu Tingxin AI connects home monitoring, community follow-up and referrals to tertiary hospitals.
