Neurosurgery's "Save, We Need You" Project Takes Bronze at Shanghai Social Organization Public Welfare Innovation Contest
On September 2, the awards ceremony of the 2026 (8th) Shanghai Social Organization Public Welfare Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition was held at the Shanghai Library East Branch. The "Save, We Need You" smart brain health community project, spearheaded by Feng Junfeng, Director of the Department of Neurosurgery at Renji Hospital, stood out from 631 registered projects to enter the final round of 18, and ultimately won the Bronze Award. Focusing on cranial emergencies such as traumatic brain injury and stroke, the project is built on the concept of "prevention before disease, rescue before hospital, and care after illness." It combines medical resources, public welfare efforts and technology to bring brain health education, risk screening, pre-hospital emergency training and rehabilitation support into local communities.
On the day of the ceremony, the project was one of seven invited to stage an offline interactive booth, offering non-invasive spectral health screening and a brain-computer interface combined with exoskeleton-assisted hand function rehabilitation experience. Gao Xiang, Party Secretary and Director of the Shanghai Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau, visited the booth.
