Renji Hospital Pharmacy Department Party Branch Honored as 2026 Shanghai Advanced Primary-Level Party Organization

Following procedures of recommendation at each level, solicitation of opinions, careful review and in-depth evaluation, the Party Branch of the Department of Pharmacy at Renji Hospital has been named a Shanghai Advanced Primary-Level Party Organization. Professor Lin Houwen, secretary of the branch, accepted the commendation from the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee on behalf of the branch. The branch now has 43 Party members, covering all positions in drug dispensing, clinical pharmacy, pharmaceutical research and pharmaceutical affairs management.

It has built the branch brand "Charge Ahead, Count on Me" and was selected in 2022 as a pilot unit for Shanghai's "model Party branch" building initiative and recognized in 2023 as a national benchmark Party branch for clinical departments in public hospitals. The branch routinely runs pharmacist outpatient clinics and maintains a "Wish Wall" to hear patients' voices. Its three sub-specialties - anticoagulation, rheumatology and anti-infection - respectively won the Gold Award for discipline management and Gold Award for pharmacy management at the China Hospital Management Awards and a Gold Award at the national hospital competition for improving medical services.

Over the past decade, the department has secured more than 50 national-level research projects, and its disciplinary competitiveness has ranked first among Shanghai hospital pharmacy departments for six consecutive years.
