Party Building Guides Grassroots Outreach: Fudan Cancer Center Experts Bring Oncology Training to Caolu Community

On July 19, the Party branches of the Department of Gastric Surgery I, the Department of Pancreatic Surgery and the Department of Breast Surgery at Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center held the public welfare program "White Coats Devoted to the Party, Benevolence Along the Way" at the Sunshine Garden sub-center of the Caolu Community Health Service Center in Pudong New Area, providing grassroots doctors with capacity-building training in cancer prevention and treatment. The event formed part of the activities marking the hospital's 95th anniversary. Aimed at offering community doctors free, practical, standardized and down-to-earth knowledge, the program seeks to close gaps in early screening, early diagnosis and early treatment capacity at the primary care level.

Professor Ji Shunrong of pancreatic surgery, Professor Huang Hua of gastric surgery and Professor Chen Sheng of breast surgery delivered lectures on early diagnosis, early screening and standardized treatment of pancreatic cancer, gastric cancer and breast cancer respectively, illustrating key and difficult points with extensive clinical cases. Six experts from the three departments also held cancer prevention and treatment consultations in the outpatient hall, bringing quality medical services to the community.
