Longhua Hospital Rehabilitation Team Wins 2026 Shanghai Rehabilitation Medicine Science and Technology Award

At the 16th Shanghai Rehabilitation Medicine Science and Technology Awards ceremony, the project “Construction and Application of Clinical Technical Operation Standards and a Whole-Process Quality Control System for Acupotomy,” led by chief physician Hu Zhijun and associate chief physician Liu Dan of Longhua Hospital's Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, won the second prize in the achievement category in recognition of its outstanding innovation and dissemination value in standardizing acupotomy medicine. Acupotomy is a minimally invasive technique in which a blade-tipped needle is used to release soft-tissue adhesions. The Shanghai Rehabilitation Medicine Science and Technology Award is a highly authoritative and influential science award in the city's rehabilitation field.

Addressing the long-standing problems of standardization and safety in acupotomy practice, the project systematically reviewed and scientifically validated existing approaches to establish a standardized, reproducible set of clinical operating procedures. It broke through the empirical and subjective limitations of traditional acupotomy therapy and significantly improved the safety and effectiveness of clinical treatment, providing solid evidence-based support and a practical model for the scientific application and wider adoption of acupotomy in rehabilitation medicine.
