2026 Shanghai Alzheimer's Disease Awareness Month Event Held at Huashan Hospital

On the morning of Sept. 21, the 2026 Shanghai Alzheimer's Disease Awareness Month-themed event was held at Huashan Hospital, Fudan University. Guided by the Shanghai Municipal Health Commission, the event was hosted by the Shanghai Action Office for the Prevention and Treatment of Cognitive Impairment in the Elderly and organized by the Shanghai Mental Health Center and Huashan Hospital.

The Map of the Shanghai Full-Course Service Collaboration Network for Cognitive Impairment in the Elderly was released at the event, allowing residents to scan a QR code to find memory clinics and professional resources nearby. Huashan Hospital is one of the earliest and largest cognitive disorder diagnosis and treatment centers in China. In 2024 and 2025, the first domestic prescriptions for two disease-modifying therapies for Alzheimer's disease were written at Huashan Hospital.

The team of Professor Yu Jintai led the development of the world's first Guidelines for the Prevention of Alzheimer's Disease, and has for seven consecutive years published the public welfare science picture collection Understanding Alzheimer's Disease in One Infographic.
