Anhui-Shanghai Collaboration Builds an Innovation Hub as the Province's First TCM Organ Fibrosis Research Platform Is Unveiled

Anhui province's first specialized research platform for traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) in organ fibrosis was unveiled at Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine Affiliated Shuguang Hospital Anhui Hospital. Alongside it, the hospital established a public technology platform dedicated to the common mechanisms of organ fibrosis and to mining active components of Chinese medicinals. The platforms deeply integrate frontier technologies in multi-omics and artificial intelligence, launching medical-engineering crossover projects such as intelligent screening of active components in Chinese medicinals and the development of AI-assisted diagnostic models for organ fibrosis.

After the unveiling ceremony, representatives of the three Anhui and Shanghai parties held a dedicated coordination symposium, holding in-depth discussions on joint applications for high-level research projects, the co-construction of a joint graduate training base for Anhui and Shanghai, the development of distinctive in-hospital preparations of TCM compound formulas, and joint medical-engineering artificial intelligence research. Multiple long-term strategic cooperation agreements were reached, establishing standing mechanisms for resource sharing, personnel exchange and joint research. The initiative is a core step in implementing the national TCM regional medical center program and deepening Anhui-Shanghai collaboration between universities and hospitals.
