Huadong Hospital Marks the Double Ninth Festival with a Free Consultation by over 100 Experts from 36 Specialties

On the Double Ninth Festival, the Shanghai Hospital Association and Huadong Hospital jointly hosted a large free consultation event at the Shanghai Exhibition Center marking the hospital's centennial, assembling 100 senior-titled experts from 36 of its specialties. A medical science classroom ran alongside, addressing issues of public concern such as chronic disease prevention and rational drug use, while free tests for blood pressure, blood glucose and intraocular pressure were offered and a dedicated zero-registration online consultation channel was opened for the festival. President Bao Zhijun said that Huadong Hospital is deepening its work in geriatric medicine and building a longevity medicine center, shifting its focus from "treating disease" to "preventing disease" and "daily maintenance," from living longer to living better, with full-chain coverage of prevention, treatment, rehabilitation and management to support healthy aging.

The same day, the hospital officially launched a new emblem in "Huadong Blue," retaining the inscription by Marshal Ye Jianying, with the century-old South Building designed by Laszlo Hudec at its center and a magnolia at the bottom drawn from two ancient magnolia trees on the campus that are over 120 years old.
