Huadong Hospital Director Zhang Jun Wins Gold at the National Health Sector Youth Innovation Competition

At the awards ceremony of the Second National Health Sector Youth Innovation Competition, jointly organized by the National Health Commission and the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League in Beijing, the project "Cross-Scenario Transportable Magnetic Resonance Detection Array System," by the team of Zhang Jun, director of the research office and of the radiology department at Huadong Hospital, won the gold award in the national medical products track and was presented as a representative project in the touring exhibition. Developed jointly with the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shanghai United Imaging Healthcare Co., Ltd., and the First Affiliated Hospital of Shandong First Medical University, the system broke through key technologies including high-density flexible array design, an MR-compatible transport device and standardized interfaces. It realizes a new "imaging upon transport" paradigm and advances the integration of the magnetic resonance imaging workflow and the domestic production of core components.

The system's mean time between failures exceeds 5,000 hours and its technology readiness level has reached 9. Sales agreements have been signed with several institutions and the system has entered clinical use. The competition attracted 3,632 submitted projects and produced 39 gold awards.
